PETER DANFORTH: My name is Peter. I’m a production line technician. The most successful people who work here take it seriously. Just be willing to understand when you join the team is that it is a team. And if you’re able to take it seriously, you don’t have to be where you’re at today.
I’ve been here for 37 years because I’ve been able to make a living. I really have. The house is paid for. The cars are paid for. The kids have gone to college. And we started off with nothing.

It didn’t take just me to do this. I had to be in a place that would allow me to earn a living. And it has, what we’ve accomplished. And all this is just having to come to work every day. I bought my first new car– four miles on it.
Yeah, it’s– I don’t know. I wouldn’t say the American dream, but it’s pretty close to it. And I could see that when I first walked through the facility that this was going to be the place to be.
And to be honest with you, right now, it feels like with BlueTriton– and I mean this whole wholeheartedly– they’re very progressive. They’re more into the people. They listen more. They made some tremendous changes. And you feel that culture that this company wants to invest into the future of you. And you can do it.

STEPHEN FREY: My name is Stephen. My title is scheduler/recruiter. And I chose to work here because I saw a future for not only working here but for my family and a company that I could stay with until I retire. I have to schedule these individuals. I have to make sure that they know what they’re doing, setting up the training, making sure that the person that’s in the position knows how to do the job.
I help to do the cross training, setting that up, setting up various trainings for the new hires that come in. I get in touch with the shift supervisors and see where their deficiencies are and where we want to train the new hires. It’s like a giant jigsaw puzzle you have to put together.
My role as an ambassador is the individuals, they come in, I am the person that they talk to right off the bat. The first impression is a big one. People are really good here. I’ve been here 25-plus years. I started off back in ’97. And as I went along, each year, everything just continually got better and better and better.

When BlueTriton came in and took over, they gave us the autonomy to make our own decisions with recruiting, with testing, with training, you name it. One of the best things about this company is how it promotes from within. Individuals that have started here right on the floor, starting off on the floor, have gone on to become regional managers, to become vice presidents of BlueTriton. Where else are you going to go and see that type of growth within a company?
This is a great place to come. It’s a great place to work. They’ve always been here. I can just come to work and make a living, support my family, and I don’t have anything to worry about. That’s the best part.

(DESCRIPTION)
Brendan O-Rourke, Vice President of Natural Resources, Ice Mountain.
(SPEECH)
BRENDAN O’ROURKE: In 1999, we were growing in lots of areas around the country. And one of the areas where we didn’t have any presence was the Midwest. There’s 40 plus inches of precipitation every year, so it’s good, healthy recharge for the spring. You have roads and infrastructure that was already built and a workforce that is, quite frankly, second to none.
ARLENE ANDERSON-VINCENT: We want to live here because we love the lakes, and the streams, and the woods, and the rural nature. To have that high paying job in these areas is extremely important. And to be able to sustain your family for generations to come is extremely important.
BRENDAN O’ROURKE: The company’s philosophy is to hire good people and then maintain that workforce through the years. The team that we started with here and the team that here exists today, these have been an incredible asset that exist here. And I was thankful to see there several members from the original hiring class.
PAUL BLANZY: 20 years is a pretty big milestone for all of us here. And then it’s provided such a wonderful career for me here that I’ve provided for our family. And as a matter of fact, my daughter works here now. She’s been here five years. It’s been just a wonderful experience.
(DESCRIPTION)
Scot Boyd, Contractor.
(SPEECH)
SCOTT BOYD: I think the factory and those jobs have definitely improved things. And there’s just not a lot of opportunity here. We’re fairly remote, so the importance of those weighs pretty heavy.
MITCH PLOSZ: The factory here, we have 10 lines. It’s a very clean facility, very high tech facility. We produce water very well here.
We’re really good at what we do. Best running factory in the company. And we employ the best people. We pay the best in the area. It’s a really great place to work.
(DESCRIPTION)
Arlene.
(SPEECH)
ARLENE ANDERSON-VINCENT: The employees are like the fabric of our company. They live in the communities. They give us an opportunity to invest back in the communities.
KATHY PRATT: One of the things that I really like about being in Ice Mountain as an employee is how much we support the local community. And it’s not just in words. It’s in actions every day.
(DESCRIPTION)
Kathy Pratt.
(SPEECH)
We’ve donated numerous bottles of water to various community organizations, primarily fire departments and police departments, but the schools and communities as well when they’ve had issues with water. I’m going to get a little teared up here.
It’s just so cool to have been with the company from day one and see the impact that it’s had on the local community and the people around here who– we take it personally. We want to be successful. We want to be a big part of the community. And we’re so proud of what we’ve done and what we’ve accomplished over the years.
(DESCRIPTION)
A package of Ice Mountain water moves along a conveyor belt.
(SPEECH)[MUSIC PLAYING]
ARLENE ANDERSON-VINCENT: Caring for the environment is at the heart of what we do from if it’s monitoring the environment near where our water sources are, if it’s in allowing to invest in support and a lot of community groups that’s from river cleanups to road cleanups. That’s part of the environmental stewardship. If you do that right from day one, you build the relationships, you engage the right groups. We have a great team of scientists that are out there monitoring every day.
(DESCRIPTION)
Scott Faulkner.
(SPEECH)
SCOTT FAULKNER: Ice Mountain stands alone in terms of the long-term support that they’ve had for the watershed through the MRWA. Trash Bash is one of those things, the Ice Mountain stewardship fund that’s handled through the Fremont Area Community Foundation has enabled us to perform a lot of important environmental work that we otherwise would not have been able to do.
And MRWA interfaces with Ice Mountain in such a way that our missions are actually in alignment. They are in the water business. It is in their best interest to preserve the source of their business. It’s in our best interest to preserve the source of water.
KENN VREDENBURG: In the 20-plus years that I’ve been involved with Ice Mountain, they’ve always been really understanding. If you ever had any questions that needed to be answered, they’ve always stepped up to answer it. Any time we wanted to meet with them for any questions that we may have, we were able to get answers and meet with people. Never been straight away once.
PAUL BLANZY: They’re just a really good responsible company, which they have to be to protect the water.
(DESCRIPTION)

(SPEECH)
SCOTT BOYD: I am fifth generation. My boys will be the sixth generation farming here and contracting in Osceola County. It’s amazing that they don’t have to chase work, look for opportunity, that it’s here in our community. The potential of having grandkids in the same zip code is phenomenal.
KATHY PRATT: When I look back, it just has flown by. But it’s so neat to have been involved in different aspects of the company.
MITCH PLOSZ: It’s a fantastic group of people here. And that’s why I’m here. It’s what makes this a great job.
ARLENE ANDERSON-VINCENT: The reason I carry so much pride to work for Ice Mountain is it allows me the opportunity to do something I believe in and I love. And it’s part of my job. I get to do every day. So that’s pretty amazing.
